The tuxedos arrive in the store two business days prior to the event date. Rush reservations arrive in store one day prior to the event. Once they arrive, an e-mail confirmation will be sent to you (if you previously provided an email address). You will be asked to come in for the final fitting. Earlier fittings are possible when the arrangements have been made prior to pick-up. Please allow adequate time to check and try on your order prior to leaving the store.
You should return your tuxedo the day after the event to any of our Jos. A Bank locations. A $20 late fee will be charged for each day the tuxedo is not returned after the return date.

When you register your wedding party we will assign a group number to the wedding party and assign a reservation number to each member of the party who will be renting a tuxedo. Any member of the wedding party can then go into any Jos. A Bank store across the country and provide the employees on duty with the group number. We'll take care of the rest. After your group number has been assigned, you can visit our online Group Manager to monitor the fitting process or send personalized reminders to your group members. To be connected to the Jos. A Bank nearest you, or visit our Store Locator.
Jos. A Bank stores have a tailor shop on site for minor alterations (such as adjusting the sleeve or trouser length). In the event that an item needs to be re-ordered, Jos. A Bank will do everything possible to arrange for the item to arrive in the store by the event date.
Fortunately, Jos. A Bank gives you both options. As a rule, if you expect to wear a tuxedo more than two or three times in the next few years, it might be more economical to buy your own tuxedo.
Do you really want to leave it to chance that everyone in the wedding party will have the appropriate shoes to wear with their tuxedo? Make sure your wedding photos turn out perfectly by having every man in the wedding party wear matching shoes.

If you need to make a style change to your order or cancel your order prior to 14 days before the event date, there is no charge, but you need to notify the store where your order was placed in order to receive any refund due. However, if you need to make a style change or cancel your order less than 14 days prior to the scheduled event, there will be a $20 fee on each rental. In the case of a wedding party cancellation, the $40 group deposit will be forfeited; however each member of the wedding party will have his deposit refunded.
We recommend that you do not measure yourself. You can have professional measurements taken free of charge at any of our over 600+ locations nationwide. Click here to access our Store Locator.
In order to ensure size and style availability, we encourage your members to visit the nearest store within 30 days of booking your wedding rather than waiting until the final deadline. However, the final fitting deadline is 14 days prior to your event. The only exception is children, because they grow so quickly, we suggest fitting them closer to the event date. Children should be fitted no more than 30 days before the event, but no less than 14 days before the event to avoid rush fees. A $30 Rush Order Fee will be charged to any members not fitted or any Tuxedo Measurement Cards that are not received by the final fitting deadline.
At the time of their initial fitting, members will be asked to indicate the store where they'd like their tuxes to be delivered, unless you have predetermined where all tuxes should be picked up. If you haven't already determined a pick up location, please let your groomsmen know that they should choose the location that's most convenient for them to visit two days before the wedding. If you have out-of-town members where there is no Jos. A Bank store, you will need to specify the location for pick up (perhaps near your home or the wedding venue) and communicate it to them, letting them know that they will need to come in and try on their tuxedo two days prior to the event.
Formalwear Etiquette
A good rule of thumb is to have all the men you want in your wedding photos wear tuxedos. Obviously the groom and his attendants should be in tuxedos, but you should also consider other family members, including fathers, brothers and grandfathers, as well as the ushers. You may also want to have entertainers, photographers and videographers wear tuxedos as well.
Matching your prom date's dress can be a nice touch, but it is certainly not mandatory. Of course, your date might think otherwise, so you should check with her. When matching, you should only incorporate the color of your date's dress into your accessories, namely your tuxedo tie and vest or cummerbund (or your dress shirt and tie if you're wearing a suit). Your clothing (meaning your tuxedo, suit, sport coat, etc.) should most definitely not match the color of your date's dress, unless your date's dress happens to be white or black.
The usual timeframe for wearing white dinner jackets is Memorial Day through Labor Day, and a strict traditionalist would tell you that you they should only be worn during the day, not in the evening. In fact, the traditionalist might even go so far as to tell you that if the event extends into the evening, you should change out of your white dinner jacket and into a black tuxedo coat at 5:00 or 6:00 P.M. However, as conventions today are less stringent than in the past, it is generally considered acceptable to wear a white jacket throughout the entire event. If your wedding party members will be wearing white jackets, we recommend that you ask the gentlemen to bring their jackets to the wedding in clothing bags and have the wedding photographs taken before the ceremony. The white jackets attract everything that isn't white, like makeup, punch, food—you get the idea.
This is a matter of personal preference. Currently formal vests are much more popular than cummerbunds, so we recommend that your party wear vests. Additionally, vests have a more "finished" look than cummerbunds and tend to look better when gentlemen remove their tuxedo jackets during the reception.
Tailcoats, often referred to as "tails," are the most formal of all formal attire. They are only worn after sundown, unless the event begins earlier but will extend into the evening. They usually require a white pique shirt, a white pique vest and a matching bow tie. Invitations where this look would be appropriate may read "Black Tie No Option" or "White Tie".
Cutaway coats, also commonly referred to as "morning coats," are worn during the day and are not to be worn after sundown. These coats do not have satin lapels and are available in black and grey. The grey coat is worn with grey striped slacks and is the traditional attire for morning weddings. The black coat is worn with black tuxedo slacks and is acceptable attire for any part of the day.
"Black tie invited" can be thought of as a slightly more forceful request than "black tie optional." It means that you should wear formal attire (a tuxedo and accessories) if possible.
Not all of the tuxedos offered by Jos. A Bank are black. In addition to many black tuxedos, our rental program features a selection of tuxes in white and ivory. Other available options include a white dinner jacket and a grey cutaway (morning coat) model, which is worn with grey striped slacks. Despite the fact that some manufacturers insist on offering tuxes in a wide palette, the colors listed above are the only appropriate colors for adult men to wear on formal occasions. Black formal wear in particular will not clash photographically with your wedding colors. Nothing dates your wedding photos more quickly than selecting an unconventional hue for your tuxedos. On the other hand, a black tuxedo represents timeless elegance.
Yes, it is very important that all men in a wedding party wear matching tuxedos. However, many brides prefer to have the groom wear a different style or color tuxedo. While this is an option, we suggest that you take a more subtle approach and select a different color for the groom's accessories (vest and tie). Our guess is that even if the groom is dressed the same as all the other groomsmen, the bride will still be able to identify him.
